From the Editor

As a direct result of ITAI’s strengthened links with EVU, I am pleased to report that additional papers have been submitted for publication by our European colleagues. I am particularly grateful to those authors for whom English is not their first language, and who have spent considerable time and effort in making sure that the material arrives in a format that your Editor can deal with ! You’ll see that this edition carries copies (in whole or in part) of recent reports from the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS), and from the RAC Foundation. Both reports are relevant to our work in collision investigation and road safety, and I have no hesitation in drawing them to your attention. Steve Gooding, Director of the RAC Foundation, kindly agreed to a short interview, and I include his further comments in respect of the RACF report. Naturally, I was delighted that Katy Harrison, Senior Policy and Research Officer for PACTS, accepted my invitation to prepare a Guest Editorial for ‘Impact’. I feel sure that readers will appreciate the contribution that each has made to this edition of ‘Impact’. I am, of course, most grateful to all who have contributed to this edition of ’Impact’. Your continued support, and that of others who may be considering submitting material, would very welcome. Tony Foster Cover photograph
